    Hakim Noah, LMT works with individuals, couples, and groups to bring each individual into greater awareness of his or her deepest Self. Using a combination of postural alignment, guided meditation, and deep tissue massage, Hakim guides clients towards deeper self-knowledge and body awareness both on and off the massage table.

    The Community Care Advisor provides direct support to individuals in an IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disability) residential setting. This position is responsible for supporting the Residential Assistants by ensuring that the individuals served are integrated into their community and with their housemates. This position promotes a safe and healthy living environment and increases the capabilities of clients within the policies and procedures of the agency while ensuring the protection of individual rights.

    Marketing Intern (paid), Oakland, CA. June – August 2017

    Developed, refined, and implemented marketing strategy for calendar software, including Google Adwords campaigns, direct email marketing, setting up CRM software, and making recommendations for the improvement of the website livewhalecalendar.com. Interacted with and tracked leads, researched side projects for CEO, and presented marketing strategies to executive team. Upon end of term, created a plan for future marketing procedures and employees.

    Project Genesis, NGO

    U.S. Development Director Sep 2013 – Present.

    Director of U.S.-based fundraising operations at Project Genesis, a registered nonprofit serving 80-100 children outside of Chimaltenango, Guatemala. Began as a volunteer on site in Guatemala, continued working with the project upon return to the U.S. Created a short documentary, ran several crowdfunding campaigns, and developed a website. Currently working to expand Project Genesis as a registered nonprofit in the United States. www.genesisguatemala.org

    TEDxKalamazooCollege

    Co-Organizer and Artistic Director Jan 2015 – July 2015

    Co-led a team of twenty students to create the inaugural TEDx event at Kalamazoo College in May of 2015. Responsibilities included advertising and branding leadership, speaker selection, web and graphic design, video production, and group leadership and facilitation. TEDxKalamazooCollege is an independently organized event operated under license from TED.

    Organic farm on Mount Desert Island. Responsibilities include running the farm-stand (retail) as well as harvesting, planting, and preparing crops for CSA shares.

    Whitewater Raft Guide Jun 2013 – Present

    Seasonal, May-September. Primary responsibility is to create a positive customer experience on the 6-hour trip down the Deerfield River's whitewater rapids while embodying the values of Zoar Outdoor.

     

    Daily responsibilities include loading equipment, packing lunch, registering guests, entertaining and guiding customers while mitigating risk on the river, receiving extensive training and first aid certification, training guests to engage safely with the river, serving lunch, putting equipment away, cleaning up lunch and trash at the end of the day, maintaining wetsuits and other gear, driving shuttles and trailers, and having fun!

    Rowe Camp and Conference Center

    Camp Counselor June 2011 – Jul 2013

    Counselor during annual session at a sleep-away summer camp for 13-15 year-olds, focusing on community and relationship building held within the context of Unitarian Universalist values. A group of 15-20 staff create and facilitate the camp curriculum, including all workshops and activities such as the reflective sharing space known as Chapel that takes place each night. Each counselor lives with a group of 8-10 campers in a cabin for the three-week session.

    Six-month 600-hour program. Modalities included Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, prenatal, hot stone massage, NMT (neuro-muscular technique) and chair massage.

    Studied theater arts, ethnic studies, environmental ethics, and creative writing. Attended one year at Kalamazoo College before transferring to the College of the Atlantic.

    Activities: Organizer for TEDxKalamazoo College, working on the Kalamazoo College Fossil Fuel Divestment Campaign, Varsity Ultimate Frisbee Team member, and Men's Spirituality Club organizer.

    Performing arts high school where I studied acting, music, art, and scene production. Played varsity soccer and ultimate all four years, and graduated in the top 5% of my class.

    Activities: Captain of the varsity soccer team, member of the varsity ultimate team, involved in multiple theater productions and jazz ensemble.
